In the South West corner of a field on the West side of a public footpath, 300 yards South of Dog Kennel Lane
DEMOLISHED When the site was visited in 2000 one side of the compound fencing remained, including the gate. The ventilation shaft adjacent to the access hatch was damaged with some concrete and the louvres missing. The ventilation shaft had gone. The BPI & FSM pipes were in place. The green paint was flaking badly. The hatch was locked but could be opened with a ‘T’ bar key. Internally the post was flooded to a depth of one foot and was very damp. The post was strewn with rubbish although many of the original features remained including the table and shelf (the cupboard had gone), twin bunks with mattresses, rack of wooden shelves, 3 chairs, fire blanket box, light, BT wiring and connection boxes, copper earth straps and a large cluster map on the wall. When visited in August 2004 all surface features had been removed with only a mound of earth remaining ro indicate the site.
Opened in 1961 and closed in 1991.
