Uniter was an RAF Communications system developed in the late 1980s and utilised distinctive surface bunkers at RAF bases. The one at RAF Templeton still exists, and was sold by the MoD in 2006. It is in good order and is now used by a storage company.

Templeton, as well as the Uniter bunker also had a BOXER microwave relay installation. (BOXER was the name given to the relay system linking Uniter bunkers.)
The contract was for a highly resilient network of extremely robust masts with duplicated microwave antennas not to be used for any other services. The signals to Templeton originally linked to RAF Brawdy via a third mast and then across the Bristol channel to Chivenor & St Mawgan. The mast supporting the link to Brawdy was demolished when the airbase was closed and handed over to the Royal signals.
After a review the duplicated microwave antennas were reduced to just one in later years.
