The bunker, which is located beside a small reservoir is officially listed by Thames Water as a personnel shelter and is about 3 miles from their Latton Control Centre. It was built in the 1980’s after Thames Water moved their headquarters out of London.

This bunker has been demolished.
It is similar to the site at Donnington, Cotswold and Reading’s Thames Water Bunker.
There were three divisions of Thames Water - West, Central, East, each division would have protected communication centres however the western division was done first but the Cold War ended before the other areas were completed.
Therefore there was no central HQ bunker, all the bunkers would have been autonomous this includes Reading, Donnington in Gloucestershire and Latton in Wiltshire which is also the site of their peacetime control centre.
These bunkers were just comms centres to manage engineers and recovery, not telemetric control centres for water, All these type of bunkers were built between 1990-1991.
