On a mound within a high fenced compound on the East side of a track to a reservoir, 150 yards South of un-named minor road.
OPEN The four compound corner posts and other posts along two sides of the compound still stand. All surface features remain intact with the ventilation shaft raised on a concrete plinth, it’s top is damaged. The access shaft step and hatch are missing and there is damage to the adjacent ventilation shaft. All the ventilation louvers are missing. There is evidence of a fire underground although the post is now filled with rubble and old fence posts to within four feet of the top. A disused telegraph pole stands alongside the track to the post. The post closed in 1969 and was replaced by Ynysddu which had originally closed in 1968 and re-opened on the closure of Bargoed.
The concrete base of the aircraft post stands nearby. It is 8' X 4', there is evidence of a metal mounting and a truncated telegraph pole alongside. There is also some fencing remaining from a separate compound around it.
Opened in 1963 and closed in 1968.
