In a small compound Souith of a field boundary, farm track, on the brow of a hill East of trig. station. West of Arnolds Hill Farm and 100 yards Souith of Arnolds Hill (A40).
LOCKED The post is owned by England Electrical Communications and is used to house PMR radio repeaters. The post is securely locked and alarmed. All surface features are intact with the grey paint in good condition. A Torlift hatch was fitted in the late 1980’s and this is locked. A radio mast stands in the compound between the access shaft and the ventilation shaft. The post has now been connected to the mains electricity supply and it has internal lighting. Original ROC artifact remain including the cupboard, table, shelf, 2 folding canvas chairs, WB1401 carrier receiver and WB1410 filter unit, Tele-talk, Jerry can, dustpan, copies of Aircraft Recognition Journal. A truncated telegraph pole stands near the compound, there is a large GPO junction box fixed to it, this would have been the telephone connection for an aircraft post. A single bed frame lies in the undergrowth in the compound.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.
