In compound on north side of un-named minor road.
OPEN Non standard design at the surface. All surface features remain intact. An angled extension pipe has been fitted to the top of the ventilation shaft adjacent to the access shaft and the GZI mounting is also on top of a 3 foot high pipe next to this ventilation pipe. A metal platform has been constructed level with the hatch with railings round it and metal steps for access. There is a notice in the compound which reads ‘Ministry of Defence. Royal Observer Corps Post Worth Matravers’. The padlock hasps have been cut and the hatch is detached. It has now been secured with a padlock and chain. The post is due to be sold in 2003. Internally the cupboard, bench, battery switching box and some wiring remains.
Opened in 1962 and closed in 1991.
