The site was found again during building of a new road. The post was excavated by Wessex Archaeology.
Unusual Cold War reminder uncovered at Arborfield Cross
It was noted that the post was built back-to-front.
Wokingham Borough council have installed a new memorial stone near to the site of the ROC Post in its commemoration. The road that now passes through the site has been named observer way and a bridge close to the memorial has been named observer bridge.
