In a small compound on the top of Westend Hill at the end of a line of telegraph poles. Accessed from a gate at the end of The Baulk (street name).
OPEN All surface features remain intact. The top of the access shaft was re-constructed in 1989 and a new larger hatch (Torlift) fitted. the hatch is open. Internally there has been some smoke damage but no evidence of fire. The post has been vandalised with a lot of rubbish on the floor. A WB1410 receiver was found in the toilet and has now been removed. There is some wiring and the case for an early style loudspeaker box. there is a single long table, cupboard (doors lying on the floor) and a second tall cupboard. The walls are covered with cork tiles. 28.12.12 - has a larger than usual hatch that has been completely taken out.
Opened in 1960 and closed in 1991.
