In a square compound next to the coastguard lookout on the edge of Furness Golf Course.
LOCKED One side of the compound fencing is missing although the posts are in place. All surface features remain intact although the green paint is flaking and the louvres are rotting. A metal dome and bracket on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. The hatch is locked. A two foot deep hole has been dug around the FSM pipe revealing 10 courses of bricks. A similar depth trench 15' long has been dug from the ventilation shaft. There is a V shaped area of hard standing within the compound for car parking. The excavations might have something to do with the fact that the post is believed to have been converted into a reservoir and is used as a water supply by the Furness Golf Club. When inspected in July 2007 there was little change from 2001.
