At the end of a line of telegraph poles, on a mound on a high point on East side of Bamburgh Golf course, 60 yards North of B1342.
OPEN All surface features remain intact but the green paint is flaking badly. A metal dome on the ventilation shaft indicates this was a master post. When visited in 2000it was noted that the padlocks had been cyt but the hatch was secured with a stout iron bar padlocked in place. This has now been cut. Internally the post is wet and retains its table, shelf, cupboard and some papers.
Opened in 1963 and closed in 1991.
