Station Name: TANHOUSE LANE
Looking west from the eastbound platform in 1964 shows the stations main facilities in detail. Tanhouse Lane itself crossed the line by means of a level crossing at the west end of the station and it can be clearly seen in the picture. A footbridge was provided to allow passengers to cross from one platform to another. On the far side of the crossing can be seen the extensive yard facilities that served local industry and was one of the main reasons that the 'GC & MR Widnes Branch' from the CLC main line was built'
