Crown Street Tunnel in August 1957 looking towards Edge Hill. The plaque reads 'This tunnel constructed in 1929 by George Stephenson served the original passenger terminus of the Liverpool & Manchester Railway at Crown Street. The tunnel portal was infilled in the early 1980's.
