(Updated 1 January 2007)

Bill Ridgeway, a member of Subterranea Britannica, is compiling a gazetteer of sites and structures used for the control and protection of civilians in an emergency situation in the United Kingdom (1945 to date).

The primary purpose of the gazetteer is to enable the location of sites and structures (extant and demolished) by grid reference, location, post town, postcode ('area' element only), county or country. The secondary purpose of the gazetteer is to indicate the location of possible sites and structures in order to encourage further research.

The gazetter is in the form of a spreadsheet, available in OpenDocument  and Microsoft Excel  formats.
